Course Hero is an online learning platform that combines course-specific study resources with AI-powered academic assistance, textbook solutions, expert tutoring, and study tools. Founded in 2006, the platform was created around the idea of making student and educator-created learning materials available to learners who need additional support outside the classroom.

The platform provides access to a large library of study materials covering subjects such as mathematics, science, business, economics, psychology, history, literature, accounting, engineering, and computer science. Resources include practice problems, study guides, class notes, videos, textbook solutions, and step-by-step explanations.

Course Hero also includes AI-powered study features. Its Ask AI functionality provides instant answers and explanations alongside relevant materials, while its math-solving tools can help students work through mathematical questions using typed or photographed problems. These features are designed to provide additional explanations and context when students are studying difficult topics.

For students who need personalized assistance, Course Hero provides access to expert tutors around the clock. Users can submit questions and receive help from tutors with relevant subject expertise. Paid memberships can include a set number of tutor questions and document unlocks, depending on the membership package.

Course Hero also uses a resource-sharing model. Users with a Basic membership can contribute their own study documents to the library and may earn access to additional resources. Paid Premier memberships provide additional access to course materials, textbook solutions, tutor support, and other study tools.

Course Hero offers a free Basic membership alongside paid Premier options. Publicly listed pricing starts at $9.95 per month when billed annually, while a monthly option has been listed at $39.99 per month. Pricing and available plans can vary by region and membership package.
